I've been actively paintings since 1994 but have been drawing for many years. Started out designing flowers but with a different flair. I wanted to see if I could create flowers never seen before on this plane of manifest; so many of my flowers have taken on an abstract view. All my life I have been fascinated with bright colors so I was draw towards acrylics because I could feel the strength in the colors. Then I began to paint pictures and shapes based on my emotions at the time. One painting inparticular I painted around 3am one morning whille thinking on my mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer. So the picture was called, 'Pain.' It express my pain at the time. But the flower was breathtakingly beautiful. I remember the bright yellows in the flower.
To make a long story short, I raffled this particular painting at my job to raise money for our United Way Campaign and the lady that won the raffle won the painting. I had the opportunity to share with her what the painting meant to me and then she told me of her family member that was diagnosed with cancer. So we talked and I would have never guess that a painting I created in 1995 was for someone almost six years later.. It dawned on me that I had painted a picture for someone else who had a special hearts desire. I would never had been able to her share iwith her if it had not been for the painting called, 'Pain.'
After that encounter with that painting I realized that many of my paintings had some sort of message in them for someone.
Many of my paintings start out as unique flowers that end up in some sort of abstract background and form.
